Kettle Harbour is an original graphic novel set in a rural Nova Scotia. It follows the lives of three characters, Michael and Brendan, a set designer and a burnt out software engineer trying to make it work together in a small town, and Brendan’s first cousin, Andrea, an artist who comes to visit after a long absence—disrupting their lives forever.
This sprawling, 250+ page novel is out now with Conundrum Press. Kettle Harbour wouldn’t have been possible without the support of a creation grant from Arts Nova Scotia. Work on the novel began in 2018, when I took part in the 2018-19 Visual Arts Nova Scotia Mentorship Program. Through this wonderful program, I wrote the first draft with the help of my mentor, Dr. Karin Cope.
